A fusion of semi-condensed, semi-rounded, geometric, DIN, and grotesque influences with minimal contrast and semi-closed aperture.

I’ve decided not to share the source files anymore, which doesn’t meet Google Fonts’ requirements. On top of that, Google internally processes the fonts, which introduces bugs and rendering issues I can’t fix.
If italics are essential for your project, this font might not be the right fit—and that’s totally okay. Manrope was designed with a modern, geometric character in mind—clean, structured, and upright, drawing inspiration from tech brands. After a lot of thoughtful consideration, I found that adding italics disrupted the core aesthetic of the typeface. It simply didn’t feel right. So instead of forcing it, I chose to focus on refining what makes Manrope special.
Unfortunately not. The font was designed with minimal stroke variation, which gives it a special and consistent look. Creating a heavier weight would require entirely redrawing each character to avoid losing definition in closed shapes—a huge task that might compromise the original vision. If you’re looking for a super bold display type, there may be better options out there depending on your needs.
You might be using the Google Fonts version. Google processes fonts, and unfortunately, that can introduce rendering bugs I can’t control. For the most accurate and high-quality experience, I recommend downloading the official version directly from this website. That way, you’re seeing the font as it was truly intended.
I genuinely appreciate feedback—thank you for caring enough to reach out. But Manrope is deeply personal. I created it because I couldn’t find a typeface that perfectly matched my vision. It reflects my own typographic taste, and for that reason, I don’t plan on adjusting its direction based on external requests.
If you’re feeling inspired to create something different, I highly encourage you to make your own typeface! The world always needs more beautiful and unique fonts.
A manrope is the rope fixed to the side of a ship’s gangway or ladder, offering support while climbing aboard. Just like its namesake, this font is meant to offer stability and support—helping your brand or project stay balanced and confident as it grows.
Manrope heavily utilizes OpenType features, including alternative characters and ligatures. I don’t plan to disable these features or export individual versions of the font because maintaining too many files would be too much work. Instead, I encourage you to explore how to enable or disable these features in the software of your preference. Most design software, such as Adobe, Affinity or Figma, allows you to control OpenType features through settings or preferences. Additionally, if you’re using the font on the web, you can adjust OpenType features using CSS, such as font-feature-settings: "liga" 0; to disable ligatures. Take some time to learn how to customize the font to suit your needs!
This font is available in both variable and legacy formats. While the variable version offers more flexibility, it may appear slightly inconsistent or blurry at small sizes due to limited hinting support on some platforms. If you notice this, try using the legacy (static) format instead, which includes full hinting for better clarity. Alternatively, increasing the font size can also help improve legibility.
Manrope font has wide language support, covering most Latin and Cyrillic languages:
Manrope font has not only alternative glyphs for uppercase styles, but is also context-sensitive. It changes glyphs for you automatically, while you are typing:
Digits in Manrope font are perfect for interface design and numeric data, such as phone numbers, card numbers, watch faces, etc.

Some software automatically replaces (') with (’) in your writing, according to the context. But no internet browser is doing that. Manrope font uses the OpenType feature, which sets a correct apostrophe automatically.
Custom ligatures might help you display easier some special symbols and basic icons.
